To add a blog post, go to the posts section on the left hand side. Then you can see all your posts. You can add a new one just like I’ve done here and you can give it a title, you can add some content in here, and you can add your featured image.

The featured image will be the image that appears on the blog overview page. You can also add separate images in the blog post itself.
